MOVING FORWARD WITH SENSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Every challenge facing our City today, no matter how daunting, presents an
opportunity for a creative, positive outcome that is genuinely in the public interest.
Given the enormous human talents available, there’s no reason we can’t find
common ground to solve our current challenges as we prepare for the future.
As a business owner, I support Mayor Piercy’s pursuit of a sustainable Eugene. I am
committed to encouraging local farms and other local businesses that provide basic
products and services to our city.
As a husband and a father, I feel a responsibility to future generations to
preserve our environment and stabilize our local economy.

ECONOMIC STABILITY AND GROWTH
- Enhance our quality of life by sustaining and improving our
commonly-held infrastructure (education, public health and
human services, parks and recreation, public safety and city
streets), which will help attract and keep businesses with good paying jobs.
- Protect the Urban Growth Boundary and preserve farms, wetlands, forests, and
natural open space.
- Encourage sensible commercial, industrial, and residential infill and
cost effective public transportation improvements.
- Protect the environment, air and water, and neighborhood livability.
|
REVITALIZED DOWNTOWN
-
Denser housing downtown will lead to infill of the remaining commercial
vacancies downtown. I will work for redevelopment of the “pits,” and the
creation of a “Library Park,” as well as restoration of the Center Court
and Washburn buildings within our current budget constraints.
OPEN AND TRANSPARENT CITY GOVERNMENT
- More informed citizen involvement in decision making.
- Establish a truly independent City Auditor to provide for efficient and
accountable service provision.
- Establish a City attorney’s office that is not on a private contract, to
eliminate any possible conflict of interest.
